Description

This fly was tied as a response to a challenge to tie a classic salmon fly from only a single bird. Everything on it is peacock. What is special about it is that I decided not to use any thread on the fly, substituting stripped herl instead. It took 8-10 herls to finish the fly, and herl is slippery stuff, so I was quite pleased just to finish it. And I think it looks pretty cool, a sort of mutant dobsonfly spey.
